EPS is a proud supporter of EPSA’s product stewardship program, which is focused on reducing expanded polystyrene (EPS) waste from construction sites to minimize the volume of EPS offcuts ending up in landfills.
We ensure that all of our polystyrene products are delivered to building sites responsibly—securely tied down using industry-approved methods to prevent damage or wind dispersal. As part of our commitment, we also provide scrap collection bags with every Diamond Pod delivery to help builders separate EPS offcuts from general site waste.
EPS works closely with construction contractors to coordinate EPS waste collection, bringing the filled scrap bags back to our facilities where they are recycled and transformed into new polystyrene products. While EPS is recyclable, it should not be disposed of in standard household rubbish or recycling bins, as it requires a specialized recycling process that currently takes place only in large industrial volumes within Australia.
