The Waffle Pod Slab System is an above-ground foundation method used for homes, extensions, and commercial or industrial buildings. It provides strong load-bearing support in difficult soil conditions like expansive, rocky, or collapsible soils. The system includes a perimeter floor with internal beams or strip footings spaced one meter apart, with pods creating voids between them. Edge formwork defines the slab’s sides, and the layout of footings resembles a waffle when viewed from below.
